Q: I am a supporter or specialist interested in visiting Lotus Bloom.
A: You are welcome to schedule a visit with Lotus Bloom. Send us an email at info@lotusbloomfamily.org to schedule a visit.
Q: Is Lotus Bloom a preschool?
A: Lotus Bloom is not a preschool. We are a parent-child playgroup.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: Lotus Bloom's target audience are low-income families in Oakland. Daily fee can cost from $1 per person to $25 per person. Please review our daily fee policy.
Q: What should I expect at playgroup?
A: Lotus Bloom's structured program includes free play, circle time, snack, and outdoor time.
Q: Does the parent need to stay with the child the entire time?
A: Yes. Lotus Bloom is a parent-child playgroup that fosters bonding between the child and caregiver.
Q: Can we drop in to playgroup anytime?
A: We strongly recommend that you arrive a few minutes before program starts at 9:30am because often we reach capacity very quickly.
Q: Do we have to stay the entire time at playgroup?
A: It is recommended to stay at least until 11:30am to fully experience playgroup.
Q: What ages are permitted at Lotus Bloom?
A: Our playgroups are for children ages 5 and under.
Q: Can someone else bring my child or is it just for parents?
A: Lotus Bloom warmly welcomes family friend and neighbor care providers in our playgroup.
Q: Can my child's Developmental Specialist attend playgroup?
A: Yes, however the Developmental Specialist must call ahead 24 hours ahead of time to notify Lotus Bloom (Specialists who did not call ahead of time, will not be admitted.) Parents will have also pay for the Specialist to participate.
Q: How many children can I bring?
A: We ask that each adult come with up to 2 child(ren). If there are more than 2 children, please bring another adult.
Q: Can we bring our own snacks to playgroup?
A: Yes, you may bring your own snacks from home. Please refrain from bringing any sugarry, peanut or pork products. Please save them until snack time.

A: Lotus Bloom staff speak English, Spanish, and Chinese.
