We are delighted to share highlights during this quarter. We are celebrating new promotions, special events and new resources in the community, saying farewell to a beloved board member, and sharing how we are engaging families in our programs.

Give a warm welcome to our new Director  of Family Navigation!

We are excited to welcome Avita Behari into the Executive Team as our new Director of Family Navigation. Avita has a background as a Program Administrator at Lotus Bloom among other many skills that she has been able to implement into her work at our organization. Avita’s exceptional work, and major support for programs as well as her background of working with children, and other administrative work has helped the organization flow successfully in different departments.

Little Town Library comes to Room to Bloom!

On Thursday, March 31, 2022, our Room to Bloom site welcomed Ayesha Curry and the Eat. Learn. Play Foundation to install one of the Little Town Library. This new literacy initiative will construct and maintain 150 new Little Town Libraries in under-resourced areas of Oakland, meeting kids and families where they are, and encouraging neighborhood book sharing to develop children’s passion for reading.

Approximately 75 participants showed up to celebrate the event while Ayesha read, blew bubbles, and sang songs with over 20 families. Volunteers, board members and corporate partners like Workday came to support the event. As part of the literacy promotion, Eat. Learn. Play. will work with Lotus Bloom and other community partners to distribute more than 50,000 free books throughout the community to ensure Oakland kids can read anywhere and everywhere.

Currently, only 15.4% of Black and 12.5% of Latino/a elementary school students are reading at grade level. We are committed to increasing literacy and closing this achievement gap. We would like to thank Ayesha Curry and the Eat. Learn. Play Foundation for this critical resource to close the literacy gap in Oakland.

Lotus Bloom’s First Community Celebration

Picture
Lotus Bloom's downtown site hosted its first community celebration right before program break on Friday, Mar 25. It was a huge success and was attended by 20+ Oakland families who truly reflect LB's multicultural and inclusive values. The event provided attendees with an opportunity to strengthen community bonds, play, eat and celebrate together. The staff and families surprised Kana Matsumoto, one of downtown's Family Navigators, with an unexpected birthday celebration. Participants were given goodie bags on the way out. It was a sweet day and the overall sentiments were joyful and grateful.

Thank you for your services, Russell Williams!

EFFECTIVE WAY TO GET YOUR HERPES CURE/MEDICINE ORDER FROM DR. ODUNGA HERBAL REMEDIES

My name is Hailey Garcia and I am from New Jersey. My herpes virus turned to war after 2 years of living with it. I have tried different procedures to cure my herpes but to no avail. Most people think herpes is only a minor skin irritation of which herpes has long term effects on health and passes through the bloodstream and can be easily contracted through sexual intercourse. After 2 years of trying other means to get rid of it, I had to contact Doctor Odunga to help me with a permanent cure. I saw his email and whats-app number from a testimony I read online from a lady who was also helped by him in curing infertility problems, I had faith and contacted him. He assured me of his work and I ordered his herbal medicine. Within 5 days, I didn't feel any pain anymore and within 2 weeks, my skin was all cleared and smooth. I am very grateful to you sir and I write this testimony as others have done to bring those having faith to you sir. If you have herpes or other similar disease and you want it cured, kindly contact Doctor Odunga, Whats-App (wa.me/+2348167159012) OR Email [email protected]

I was diagnosed with HSV2 in my eye and mouth from semen. I had no idea regretfully that it could be transferred through semen on your face. As I suffered two weeks of continuous pain and rash in the right eye and mouth suspecting herpes then I went to run a test and was diagnosed with hsv2. It was then that I realized it had finally gotten to me despite how much I have always tried to play safe. I started taking lysine and supplements except valtrex because I heard that I can’t get off without having nonstop outbreaks if I take valtrex. A month later I included acyclovir eye drops and pain killer and many other herpes treatment I can get then to prevent blindness. I tried everything for two years to cure myself but to no tangible results . I became worried and afraid of losing eyesight and also my hearing since I was told that herpes can travel from your eye to the ears.
I can't bear the thought of losing an eye and my hearing because of my ignorance which has already begun affecting my mental health. I encouraged myself and started attending seminars and anything that could help with my mental health. During this period someone I called God sent saw the sores and recognised it was a herpes infection. She told me that Dr Utu herbal cure had cured her when she was in a similar situation to me. I became interested and she gave me his email address [email protected]. I contacted Dr Utu who assured me that after treatment there will be no more herpes in my body. In good faith, I decided to give him a trial for the sake of my mental health. He prepared me four weeks herbal treatment that permanently cured me. I have done HSV test to be sure and the result came out negative. I am living my life without any fear of losing my eyesight or hearing.
No more depression or anxiety I have gotten back my life with Dr Utu Herbal Cure and I feel much satisfied 💯

I got infected with genital herpes (HSV2) from group sex party 6 years ago
I started taking lysine 3000 mg of lysine once a day and it worked well for me during outbreaks but it was not enough for me as it does not stop it from breaking out anytime without warning. I endured this for years.
The fear of a future outbreak made me look for an alternative and I was directed to try Dr Utu Herbal Cure.
Amazingly, it worked so well for me, I can't believe it
Dr Utu Herbal Cure completely cured me hsv2 and I have stayed up to two years with no outbreaks and no side effects from even treatment. It's been life changing.
