FAMILY ENGAGEMENT NIGHT

​Family Engagement Night is held once a month at the Lotus Bloom Downtown site in the evening. The purpose of the event is to continue to build community with our Lotus Bloom families as well the families in our housing complex we are based from. At Family Engagement Night we offer enrichment activities for children from birth to ten years old incorporating art, games and most of all play. We strive to create a multicultural potluck style event asking all participants to bring something to share.

PARENT LEADERSHIP

At Lotus Bloom, we acknowledge and honor that parents and caregivers are their children's first teacher.Our parent leadership program is open to parents who want to engage with us in team building, professional development, and peer mentoring in order to expand their opportunities and share resources with the community. 

SATURDAY COMMUNITY PLAYTIME

Community Playtime is a strengthening families and communities event held on the first Saturday of the month in the Castlemont Corridor of East Oakland. First Saturday Community Playtime is held in a vast outdoor space with a skate park and play structure! In addition to ample, safe space to play, the event includes arts and crafts, healthy snacks and special events such as a librarian visit, Zumba, and Hip Hop class. Playtime nurtures a safe, educational and fun space for the healthy development of children and families. This event is brought to you by Room to Bloom Family Resource Center and our many Community Partners such as Youth Uprising and Mandela Marketplace.
