LOTUS BLOOM MULTICULTURAL PLAYGROUPS

0-36 Mos Playgroup: Mondays and Wednesdays, 9:30am – 12 pm (Suggested donation of $1 per person/per day)

Parent-child program to foster bonding, attachment, social and motor development. Schedule includes free play, art, a light snack, circle and puzzle time. Includes monthly story time with a librarian from Oakland Public Library, and monthly Little Science classes with the Lawrence Hall of Science. Open to parents and caregivers with children under 36 months. Drop-ins welcomed.

3-5 Year Old Playgroup: Mondays and Wednesdays, 9:30am – 12 pm ($5 per child/day)

Strong school readiness skill building component, focus on interactive play, focused circle time, art, emergent and play-based curriculum. Works on separation strategies, building self confidence, literary skills, setting routines, self-regulation, and developmental milestones. Open to parents and caregivers with children under 3-5 years old. Drop-ins welcomed.

0-5 Playgroup: Saturdays, 10 am – 12 pm ($1 to $5 sliding scale)

A weekend playgroup for working parents and their children, with monthly drumming classes. Schedule includes free play, art,a light snack, circle and puzzle time. Open to parents and caregivers with children 0-5 years. Drop-ins welcomed.

Family Fridays: Fridays, 10 am – 12 pm ($5 per child/day)

A time for families from all playgroups to come together for special events – potlucks, dance, exercise, science and nutrition classes, and field trips. Open to parents and caregivers with children ages 0-5. Drop-ins welcomed.

Asian Community Mental Health Playgroups: Tuesdays (Chinese) and Thursdays (Vietnamese and Cambodian), 10 am – 12 pm (Free)

Infant and Preschool Children services provide children age 0-5 with social, emotional and school readiness support through outreach, screening, education, assessment, early intervention, and treatment which include home based parent and child psychotherapy, weekly developmental playgroups with joint parenting classes, mental health consultations and interventions in preschool classrooms, family service coordination, and referrals to county and city services.
